What happens if my GrabOne coupon expires?

Edited

What happens if my coupon expires before I use it?

If a deal expires before you use your voucher, the amount you originally paid is protected for up to 3 years from your purchase date with GrabOne’s Purchase Protection. This only applies to GrabOne purchases made after March 3, 2026.

Depending on the deal, your protected amount is either:

  • Converted to GrabOne account credit — valid on any eligible deal on grabone.co.nz, applied to your account automatically, or

  • Redeemable with the GrabOne partner — honoured towards the full-price cost of the same or equivalent service

In both cases:

  • Only the amount you originally paid is protected, not the promotional face value of the deal

  • Your protected amount is non-transferable and has no cash value

  • GrabOne account credit cannot be used with a partner, and partner value cannot be converted to GrabOne credit

During the deal window, you get the full promotional “deal value”. After it expires, you keep your “paid value” as credit.

Deal value -  is the promotional offer (e.g., "$100 massage package")
Paid value -  is the original amount you actually paid (e.g., $50)

If you paid $50 for a $100 voucher and don't use it within the promotional period, you still have $50 to redeem at the GrabOne partner at their normal price or we’ll apply a $50 credit to your GrabOne account.

How do I know which model my coupon uses?

We'll make this clear in your GrabOne voucher PDF. When in doubt, contact our support team and we'll clarify - support@grabone.co.nz.

How do I redeem my coupon after the deal window expires?

For the retention model GrabOne partners: Contact the Grabone partner directly and let them know you have GrabOne value to redeem. They'll apply the original amount you paid toward goods or services at their normal prices.

For pay on redemption GrabOne partners: Your credit automatically converts to GrabOne account credit, which you can use on any future purchase on the platform.

How long do I have to use my coupon?

Each deal has a promotional window (shown on the deal page - usually 90 days). During this time, you can redeem the full promotional value. After the deal window closes, the amount you originally paid becomes GrabOne credit or can still be redeemed with the GrabOne partner, for up to 3 years.

Deal value - is the promotional offer (e.g., "$100 massage package")
Paid value - is what you actually paid (e.g., $50)

So I never lose the money I paid?

Exactly. coupons have expiry dates for the promotional offer, but your money is protected for up to 3 years - no more "use it or lose it."

How it used to work vs. how it works now on the new GrabOne:

Can I get a refund instead of credit?

Our standard refund policy still applies during the deal window. After the deal expires, your paid value becomes credit as described above. Contact our support team if you have specific circumstances.

What if the merchant closes or goes out of business?

If a merchant is no longer operating, your credit converts to general GrabOne credit that you can use on any deal across the platform.

Will I get reminders about my voucher expiry?

Yes! We'll send you email reminders:

  • When your deal window is approaching (to use the full promotional value)

  • When your deal window has expired (explaining the process)

Are there any exceptions?

A few. Physical products, live event tickets, and travel or accommodation deals may have different terms and conditions — including strict expiry dates, blackout dates, or availability limitations. Always check the specific deal terms before purchasing.
